School Uniform Notice: Very Important!

EFFECTIVE THIS MONDAY, OCTOBER 13:

All students must wear Imagine International Academy of Mableton school uniforms, as described in the IIAM parent's guide.

If students are determined to be out of uniform, they will be subject to detention.

To help ease the burden of uniform costs, Educational Outfitters, IIAM's uniform vendor, is offering a 20 percent discount on all uniform purchases made between Monday, October 13, and Saturday, November 15.

We want to see our school become all that we have dreamed of it being -- an outstanding learning environment, of which we can be rightfully proud. Parents, we need your support, as we take this important step in that direction. Thank you very much.

IIAM's approved uniform vendor is:

Wow...amazing!!

A. By choice we want better for our children;

B. By choice we apply to IIAM and are hopefully accepted;

C. With the economy the way it is and so MANY folks either losing their homes, or jobs, have only one CHOICE of where to purchase uniforms?!

Granted we are all very aware that IIAM is a 'choice' school and that parents by 'choice' send their children to the school. However, it is quite sad that Educational Outfitters is the only company that parents are ALLOWED to go to in order to purchase uniforms WITH ‘logos’ and 'flags.' Their exorbitant prices do nothing for one's wallet/pocketbook and their 'handsomely generous offer of a 20% discount does not quite come in handy.

Lets face it, the average parent(s) may be making a purchase for more than one child or there is only one income in the home (again unfortunately due to our failing economy).

Subjecting children to disciplinary action because they are Logo[less] and Flag[less] (again unfortunately due to a failing economy inclusive but not limited to employment cut backs) due to no fault of their own, seems a bit unreasonable.

It would be quite interesting, not to mention would it open up our understanding and also allow us to obtain some clarity (besides what the 'handbook' says) as to what the difference a flag or flag"less" 'back-side' makes with regards to a child's ability to be taught and grasp information. (Which by chance so happens to be the same handbook that also assures parents of a top-notch education from caring teachers/administrators).

This flag and or logo issue, of course taking precedence over so much else going on within, with regards to administration (and whether or not our students will see the same teachers and administrators this week that they saw last week) we’re sure ‘this’ will not confuse them.

Let us not mention that the children, specifically but definitely NOT limited to our elementary youngsters who play quite hard and come back into class after recess or go home after (ASEP) are usually so beautifully made over by the exquisite 'Georgia Red Clay' that dons our lovely playground can be quite 'tough' on their flag[ged] and logo[ed] uniforms.

As there may or may not visibly be a suggestion box to utilize prior to PTO meetings and since this issue has become quite pressing within the past week or so; not to mention since our children's educational future hangs in the balances of whether or not they are Logo[ed] and flag[ged], please pardon the intrusion while this comment area of the blog is used to suggest either;

A. Soliciting additional retailers
B. Having companies submit bids in order that parents may:

1. Have more options
2. Be able to (even in this unstable economy) purchase Logo[ed] Flag[ged] uniforms without having to feel the dent in their wallet/pocketbook.

Once upon a time the owner of a company made a statement to the employees,"…if you are unhappy with a situation and want something done about it, I am not an unreasonable individual, if you have 2-3 suggestions for your problem; I am open to hearing your problem, and willing to work with you on the change for a better US."

Educational Outfitters should allow parents to logo tops and bottoms that the children already have at a reasonable cost.

My Problem
My problem is that it doesn't seem fair that Educational Outfitters won't let you bring in clothes to get the logo put on them. It also isn't fair that we have to buy 20, 30, 40 dollar clothes while the same clothes at the store are also at wal-mart. Some of us do not have the money because our parents have spent all their money on gas. The sweater problem is serious too. Some students have to go out and spend their money or have to go to school freezing because we HAVE to have a certain sweater. What is the point of going to school to get an education when we can't cause everyday we have to go to detention all because we don't have one little flag or logo on us. Yes, to stand up for our rights by going to another school but, some people can't even afford to go to a PUBLIC school. The 20% offered doesn't help the majority of people who need lot of uniforms. This is a great school but their are many problems about just the uniforms. This doesn't make any sense at all. One liitle flag gets people in trouble and that doesn't seem right. with the way the economy is what can we do?
Sincerely with strong command,
Genae Bourgolly 6.1
and yes teachers, staff and students this is coming from my mouth

I go with Genae's comment but why should we waist 35 dollars of our gas and go ALL THE WAY TO Fulton County just to waist more money (50 dollars) just to buy a polo and some khaki pants. Thats all I have to say.
